Day 1: Marrakech → Imi Oughlad → Tinzert (Approx. 1.5-2 hours driving + 4 hours trekking)
Your bilingual (French/English) driver will collect you from your Marrakech riad in the morning. The ride to Imi Oughlad takes about one and a half to two hours through the foothills of the High Atlas. Meet your expert local guide in Imi Oughlad, then begin your trek along gentle paths through lush valleys shaded by juniper trees. After around four hours of hiking, you reach the peaceful village of Tinzert for your evening meal and overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse.
Day 2: Tinzert → Ait Aissa in Azzaden Valley (Approx. 5-6 hours trekking)
Following breakfast, your journey continues deeper into the Atlas Valleys. Hike toward the Azzaden Valley, passing through walnut groves and small Berber hamlets. The trail offers views of mountain peaks and local landscapes. Expect around five to six hours on foot, with breaks for rest and lunch. In the evening, arrive in Ait Aissa, where you stay the night in a cozy mountain gîte and enjoy local hospitality and dinner.
Day 3: Ait Aissa → Tizi-n-Mzik Pass → Imlil → Marrakech (Approx. 5 hours trekking + 1.5-2 hours driving)
On the last day, you’ll start early to climb toward Tizi-n-Mzik Pass at approximately 2,489 m elevation. The ascent offers sweeping views of surrounding peaks as you gain altitude. After reaching the pass, you descend toward Imlil, where you relax and enjoy lunch. Following the trek, your driver will return you to Marrakech, the drive taking about one and a half to two hours. You arrive back in Marrakech that evening with memories of mountains, culture, and nature.
