Group 4-Day Desert Tour Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Valley (Approx. 6 hours driving)

You’ll depart your Marrakech riad early in the morning (around 7:30). Travel over the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi­n’Tichka pass. Enjoy the changing landscapes, little Berber villages, and mountain vistas. Reach Aït Ben Haddou, a stunning kasbah & UNESCO site with ancient architecture and stories of film sets. After exploring, continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses to Boumalne–Dades. Overnight in Dades with dinner and rest.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga (Approx. 4 hours driving)

After breakfast, drive toward Tinghir and explore dramatic canyons at Todra Gorge. Wander through palm-oasis scenery and meet locals along the way. Then head toward the edge of the desert, reaching Rissani and Merzouga in the late afternoon. Before sunset, take a camel ride into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy the desert sunset, and then spend the night in a desert lodge or camp under the stars.

Day 3: Full Desert Day in Merzouga (Camel Trek & Desert Experiences)

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes, a moment of silence you’ll never forget. After breakfast, immerse yourself in desert life: optional experiences include visiting nomad communities, listening to local music in Berber style, and relaxing in the desert lodge. Late afternoon, set out again by camel across the sand, with dinner in the camp and night under the Saharan sky.

Day 4: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Azrou → Fes (Approx. 7 hours driving)

Early morning, leave the desert behind with one last sunrise. Ride your camel back to Merzouga town, then depart toward Fes. You’ll drive through Ziz Valley’s palms, pause in Midelt for lunch, then cross into the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary apes can appear along the path. Finally, finish with arrival in Fes in the late afternoon, where your tour ends with a drop-off at your riad or hotel.
