Group 6-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate (Approx. 5-hour drive)

Your unforgettable Moroccan journey begins in Marrakech. We’ll set off through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, before arriving at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage ksar renowned for its ancient mud-brick architecture. Enjoy a relaxed guided visit and breathtaking views of the desert foothills. Later, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara, where many famous films were shot. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming riad or hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Approx. 6-hour drive)

After breakfast, we head east toward the stunning Todra Gorges, known for their towering canyon walls and scenic palm groves. Take a walk through this spectacular valley before continuing toward the Sahara. In the late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your desert adventure begins. Day 3: Merzouga Desert & Rissani Discovery

Rise early to witness the sunrise over the golden dunes, a scene that feels almost otherworldly. After breakfast, take a camel ride or 4×4 excursion through the dunes and visit nomadic Berber families who preserve their ancestral desert lifestyle. Later, explore Rissani, a lively town known for its traditional souks and its history as the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. Return to Merzouga for a peaceful evening filled with Berber music and starlit skies.

Day 4: Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes (Approx. 7-hour drive)

Leave the desert behind as you journey north through ever-changing landscapes. Stop in Midelt, nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains, for a relaxing lunch. Continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to playful Barbary macaques, before reaching Ifrane, a picturesque town often nicknamed “Little Switzerland.” By evening, arrive in Fes, where you’ll unwind in your riad and enjoy a restful night.

Day 5: Exploring the Timeless Medina of Fes

Spend the day exploring Fes el Bali, one of the oldest and most vibrant medinas in the world. Your local guide will lead you through the maze of narrow alleys filled with scents of spices, leather, and traditional crafts. Visit landmarks like the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Attarine Madrasa, and the ancient tanneries. Day 6: Departure from Fes
