Essaouira Day Trip from Marrakech

Departure Time & Drive:

You’ll be picked up from your riad or hotel in Marrakech around 8:00 AM. The drive to Essaouira takes about 2.5 hours via Argan tree country, with scenic stops along the way.

Morning – Marrakech to Essaouira & Sightseeing

Leave Marrakech and drive through the rolling landscapes toward Sidi Lmokhtar. Make a brief coffee stop before entering argan forest zones, where you can see how Argan oil is produced at local women’s cooperatives. Arrive in Essaouira by mid-morning; begin with a walking exploration of the Medina, discovering its aged stone walls, narrow alleys, and the old Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Visit the Kasbah ramparts with views of the Atlantic Ocean and watch the daily bustle at the fishing port lined with traditional blue boats.

Lunch & Afternoon – Relaxation & Local Culture

Enjoy a relaxed seafood lunch by the harbor, sampling the fresh catch from Essaouira’s fishermen. Return to Marrakech

Around 4:30-5:00 PM, depart Essaouira for the drive back to Marrakech, arriving approximately 6:30-7:00 PM depending on traffic. You’ll be dropped off at your riad or hotel with memories of sea air, markets, and coastal discovery.
